Topargee Caravan Water Tank Gauges – Why We Now Use and Recommend Them

I recently came across the Topargee caravan water tank gauge online and decided to give one a try. Like many caravans, our Jayco only came with a basic factory gauge showing full / half / empty, which makes it hard to know exactly how much water you’re using — or how much you really have left.

I installed the Bluetooth version last week and ran a few real-world tests straight away. After running the sink tap for roughly a minute, I refreshed the app and could see I’d used around 3 litres of water. That alone showed how much guesswork the standard gauges leave you with.

Simple Setup, Accurate Results

The setup process is straightforward:

  • Fill your water tanks completely
  • Enter your tank capacity into the app (ours is 82L in a Jayco Silverline)
  • Start using your water as normal

From there, the gauge tracks usage in real time and gives you an accurate readout of how much water remains.

Why It’s a Game Changer When Travelling

The biggest advantage is control. You can:

  • Work out exactly how many litres a shower uses
  • Monitor daily water consumption
  • Know precisely how much water is left — not just a rough guess

It’s worth noting that, depending on your tank pickup and plumbing, you may not be able to use every last drop. But the accuracy is still far better than traditional factory gauges.

Why We Now Stock and Install Them

After using the Topargee gauge ourselves, we now sell and install these units because we genuinely believe they’re invaluable for travellers who want to manage water properly — especially when free camping or travelling remotely.

If you’d like to see how the installation is done, check out the video above where I walk through my own setup step by step. You can also purchase the gauge directly from us, and we offer supply and installation if you’d prefer it fitted professionally.

For anyone serious about understanding and controlling their water usage on the road, this is one upgrade that quickly pays for itself.
